Greater Faith Church was founded in 1958 by Rev. Paul Wyman. Rev. Wyman pastored until 1997. Rev. Wyman had 10 different assistant pastors.  Eight of them went on to start their own churches.  Rev. Wyman was known for encouraging other preachers to complete their vision that God had given them.  It has been said that Rev. Wyman has encouraged and inspired over 80 preachers to begin their own churches or ministries.

Rev. Wyman allowed several of his assistant pastors to establish ministries within the church that have outlasted their tenure at the church.

Rev. Davis Carter began Bible classes that catered to each level of person in the church in 1971. Eld. Mattais Peters established a substance abuse ministry in 1976.  Greater Faith Church was one of the first churches to have such a ministry.  Greater Faith Church has been honored for its work in this area.

Eld. Carlos Sangee began a homeless ministry in 1983.  In 1986, Rev. Yancey Pittman began ministries that would help the whole man. These ministries included the singles, couples, parents, and elderly ministries.

In 1991, Rev. C. J. Princeton established the ministries known as the Preacher's Kids Core, Minister's Circle, and the Minister's Wives Circle.  These ministries cater to preachers in the church and their families.  These ministries also minister to non-members.

The music ministry was reorganized by Min. Charles Arthur Harston. He was an associate minister of the church in 1989.

The Let the Healing Begin is a ministry geared toward helping people deal with past hurts, abuses, and other emotional scars.  This ministry was established by Min. Charlotta Fyfe.  She was an associate minister of the church in 1989.

Greater Faith Church has a dynamic youth ministry. It is headed by Rev. Lawrence Bills, III.  He is a recording artist. He is very popular among the youth of the church. He reorganized the youth department when he took over the department in 1990.

Rev. Wyman died in 1997. Dr. C. J. Princeton (Th.D.), who was the assistant pastor at the time, took over the church.  Dr. Princeton did something different from Rev. Wyman. Instead of appointing an assistant pastor, Dr. Princeton appointed his wife, Dr. Amy Princeton, as co-pastor. This change took some getting used to. After awhile, the church became comfortable with the idea.

Before her husband took over as pastor, Dr. Amy Princeton, was the director of the Let the Healing Begin ministry.  She holds a doctorate in Psychology, so she was a good leader.

Dr. C. J. Princeton and Dr. Amy Princeton re-organized most of the ministries so that they ran more efficiently.  The membership of the church has steadily increased.

Greater Faith Church is moving forward into the 21st century.

Greater Faith joined the Maddocha Fellowship of Pentecostal Churches in 1996.
